Q. What's the difference between gold-filled and gold-plated?

Gold filled is when a thick layer of gold is mechanically bonded to a base metal.

This is different to gold plating which is when a thin layer of gold is essentially painted on.

Gold- filled jewellery is suitable for people with nickel allergies and sensitive skin and won't tarnish over time.

With the right care, gold filled jewellery can last a lifetime.
